In Australia, avocados were rarely perceived as a dessert.
And so, we conducted a taste test event to get the "first taste" reactions of Australian residents to the product. Listen to what they say.
We are a family of migrant breadwinners empowering other migrant breadwinners. The term "migrant breadwinner" describes a person who works overseas for the primary reason of sending money back to their loved ones.
According to a recent report by Western Union, Australia-based migrants were found to send an average of 11% of their annual income as remittance. With the primary reasons being to contribute towards their family's food bill, healthcare costs and accommodation. Around 67% of migrants state that being able to send money to family back home was a key factor in their decision to move to Australia. This situation commonly results to anxiety around handling money.
We are committed on subsidising the financial education of migrant breadwinners using revenue from our avocado desserts. One cup of this dessert can contribute to one month's subscription to a personal finance app called Wisr which focuses on the psychology of handling money.
So what will happen is, every pay day, instead of migrant breadwinners sending majority of their money to their loved ones, they are now able to set themselves up for financial success.
In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, our vision is to live in a world where migrant breadwinners feel financially empowered by 2030.
The core of what we do is to reduce the perceived financial inequality among the migrant breadwinner community. This is so they can find the inner strength to change their circumstances and eventually live the life they want to live.
